چکیده
Acknowledgements I sincerely thank my advisor, Dr. Peter Beerel for inspiring me to take up one of the most significant academic challenges that I have taken in my life. He has been the best advisor a graduate student can wish for and without his support, guidance and patience; this work would not have been completed. I also thank his wife Janet and baby Kira for considering me as a part of their family and providing me with a warm and productive environment to work. I would like to thank my friends and colleagues from the USC Asynchronous CAD/VLSI group, support and invaluable suggestions. A special mention goes to Mallika, Pankaj and Amit for helping me with tool related problems and always entertaining my questions at the weirdest of hours. I would take this opportunity to show my respect and gratitude towards Dr. Ivan Sutherland of Sun Microsystems. He is one of the greatest engineers of this era and it has been an honor to have had the opportunity to work under him. I also thank Marly Roncken of Intel for her brilliant technical inputs and making the necessary circuits easily available. Ivan and Marly have been the pillars of this project and their confidence is me gave me the freedom and motivation to do better. I thank the VLSI research team of Sun Labs for giving me the opportunity of developing the static timing analysis flow for GasP as a summer 2008 intern. A special mention goes to my manager Jonathan Gainsley, my questions and giving me valuable feedback. They have been excellent teachers and have helped me build a strong technical understanding. guiding me through the various requirements of the EE department at USC. There are many friends who have helped and supported me in the last few years. First, I thank my great friend Rajesh Kotian for providing me with love, care and shelter during my initial days of struggle. Second, I would like to thank my roommates Murtaza for bearing my random hours of work and always helping me great technical discussions. Third, I thank my friends Mohit Thatte, Anirudh Shetye and Prasanjeet Das for being a constant source of support. Fourth, I thank all my friends in India for always being there with me when I needed them the most. Last but not the least, I wish to thank my parents Asha Joshi and Prakash Joshi …

Timing Verification of GasP Asynchronous Circuits: Predicted Delay Variations Observed by Experiment
This paper reports spreadsheet calculations intended to verify the timing of 6-4 GasP asynchronous Network on Chip (NoC) control circuits. The Logical Effort model used in the spreadsheet estimates the delays of each logic gate in the GasP control. The calculations show how these delays vary in response to differing environmental conditions. The important environmental variable is the physical ...
متن کاملA Nonlinear Autoregressive Model with Exogenous Variables Neural Network for Stock Market Timing: The Candlestick Technical Analysis
In this paper, the nonlinear autoregressive model with exogenous variables as a new neural network is used for timing of the stock markets on the basis of the technical analysis of Japanese Candlestick. In this model, the “nonlinear autoregressive model with exogenous variables” is an analyzer. For a more reliable comparison, here (like the literature) two approaches of Raw-based and Signal-ba...
متن کاملEnhancement of C2C12 myoblast proliferation and differentiation by GASP-2, a myostatin inhibitor
BACKGROUND GASP-2 is a secreted multi-domain glycoprotein known as a specific inhibitor of myostatin and GDF-11. Here we investigate the role of GASP-2 on myogenesis and the effect of its glycosylation on its activity. METHODS GASP-2 overexpression or knockdown by shRNAs were carried out on C2C12 myoblasts cells. In silico analysis of GASP-2 protein was performed to identify its glycosylation...
متن کاملMurine GASP-1 N-glycosylation is not essential for its activity on C2C12 myogenic cells but alters its secretion.
BACKGROUND/AIMS Growth and differentiation factor-associated serum protein-1 (GASP-1) is a secreted protein known to be capable of binding and inhibiting the activity of several TGF-beta family members, including myostatin. The present study was designed to characterize murine GASP-1 post-translational modifications and to determine their influence on the biological activity of GASP-1. METHOD...
متن کاملFaster Static Timing Analysis via Bus Compression
Static timing analysis is used extensively in the design of high-performance processors. In this paper we present a method which transforms the circuit graph used by timing analysis algorithms to a smaller one, and hence results in faster timing analysis. This transformation, called bus compression, may lead to a more conservative analysis. However, experiments on several large designs yielded ...
